James from Kent Fire & Rescue visited the whole school this week to talk about fire safety in our home environments, in general and what to do in an emergency. He spoke about the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of keeping safe, about the ‘Stop – Drop – Roll’ method if our clothes happened to catch fire and how to call 999. The children also had the opportunity to wear some firefighting equipment.

Freddie, Emily and Thomas, our Head Pupils, spoke to the children throughout the day and found out:

We have to stay low if there’s a fire because of the smoke.

Josh

Fire is more dangerous than I thought it was and now I know more about what to do in a fire.

Ruby

I enjoyed it when James showed the video of when a fire happened and what they do.
