Emergency Closures

There are times of the year when severe weather may close the school. We would like to remind you of our procedures in the event of severe weather.

Should the school be unable to open, or have to close during the day, an urgent message will be sent out by email and an In-App message via the Arbor system. Furthermore, a message will be sent to the radio stations for transmission. School closures are announced on Heart Radio, BBC Radio Kent and KM FM.

In the event of severe weather, please regularly check your Arbor App and emails and tune in to the radio rather than phoning the school. We will do our utmost to keep the school open at all times, and will only close if there are safety concerns. Once school has begun it will remain open, whatever the weather, until all children have been collected.

Please could you ensure that your child is suitably equipped for cold weather. Unless it is raining children will go out onto the playground. We suggest a warm coat, hat, gloves and scarf.
