Polar Places

Year 1 had an excellent start to their week last week with a Polar Places experience day on Monday. The children were set a home learning task to learn about an animal that lives in the polar regions and find out as much information as they could about it. They had to present the information in anyway that they liked.

We had some very confident speakers who shared the information in class with pictures and key facts, as well as some amazing 'youtuber' style videos! The day was also spent by making and trying hot chocolate, exploring how ice melts, role playing as an arctic explorer as well as a very special visit from the late 'Robert Falcon Scott' where children listened to his story and got to ask him questions.
